Advisor Assignments – 2012-2013

All students advised by the UASC have an assigned advisor. If you are part of a specific program, your advisor is listed below next to that program. If you are not part of a specific advising program, your advisor is assigned to you by your last name, and you may request to see any advisor you like, such as a past advisor or the first available advisor.

Freshmen advised by the UASC are required to complete the online freshman advising tutorial and a 1-hour 30-minute freshman advising workshop once a semester during the freshman year. However, you can always contact your assigned advisor with questions or for an additional meeting. Individual, 30-minute appointments also are available for additional assistance throughout the year and for upperclassmen who are not required to attend the workshop. Contact the UASC at (304) 293-5805, for any questions about freshman advising or to make an advising appointment.

Departmental Advising

If you do not fall into one of the populations listed above, you are advised in your department. Your advisor is a faculty member or professional advisor in your major department. You may be advised in a group or individual session, depending on the department and/or advisor’s policies. Contact your department to schedule an advising session and find out more about their advising process. You can find the contact information for your department in the “A to Z Index” on the WVU website.

How do I make an appointment?

There are two ways to schedule an appointment:

  • Call our scheduling desk at (304) 293-5805. When you call our scheduling desk, you speak directly with an advisor who can answer quick questions and schedule for the appropriate appointment.
  • Stop by our scheduling desk during regular business hours: 8:15am-4:45pm Monday-Friday.

We are not able to schedule appointments through email.
