GEC Lists

The General Education Curriculum (GEC) consists of nine objectives designed to give you a well-balanced education. You select courses from an approved list for each GEC. Sometimes your major has assigned a required GEC, but in general, you get to pick most of the classes you use to fill these objectives. If your major does require specific classes for certain GEC’s, the required courses will be printed on the pre-major checklist.
The GEC lists below are used for filling out pre-major checklists as well as for planning future coursework.

GEC Objective List

The GEC Objective List is most useful if you’re looking for a class to satisfy a specific GEC objective.

GEC Alphabetical List

The GEC Alpha List should be used to determine which GECs individual courses on your checklist fulfill.

For more information about the GECs visit the Office of the University Registrar or the current Undergraduate Catalog.
